Ed has been with Bain & Company for over 30 years, serves as Bain’s Chairman of Southeast Asia and is a member the firm’s Global Nominating Committee. He previously served as Bain’s Global Head of Financial Services based in Singapore and London.

Ed serves on the Singapore Management University Board of Trustees and as Chairman of the Board’s Finance and Remuneration Committee. He also serves as Founding Chairman of the SMU College of Integrative Studies Advisory Board and has previously served as Chairman of the SMU Business School Advisory Board. Ed is also Chairman of the Scientific Advisory Committee for MIT’s Mens Manus and Machina (M3S) research program on AI and Robotics in Singapore, backed by $40M in funding from the National Research Foundation.

Singapore has awarded Ed was the Public Service Medal (Friends of Singapore) Pingat Bakti Masyarakatin in recognition of his contributions to the country’s development. Further, Ed is a member of Young Presidents Organization and leads the Lin Foundation with his wife, Trina Liang-Lin.

He holds an MBA, with distinction, Beta Gamma Sigma, from the Northwestern University Kellogg Graduate School of Management. He also earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
