Hazem Ben-Gacem is the founder and chief executive officer of BlueFive Capital, an alternative investment platform that invests creatively in growing regional economies. Its goal is to unlock dynamic, regionally-based opportunities and generate attractive returns for savers, retirees, wealth managers and their advisors by means of consolidation, scale efficiency and the deployment of technology.
Hazem has more than 30 years of experience in leading private equity investments across North America, Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and China. He was Investcorp's Co-Chief Executive Officer until September 2024, chairing most of its private equity investment committees and overseeing all Investcorp’s activities in the Middle East, its infrastructure and technology investments globally, as well as all private equity activities across Europe, Middle East, Asia and Japan.
Hazem holds a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and serves on the Executive Board of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government, the Dean’s Council of the Harvard Medical School, and the Advisory Board of the University of Oxford's Middle East Centre. In 2017 he founded the Harvard Office in Tunisia, the first formal presence for Harvard in the Arab world.
A Tunisian national, Hazem served on the country's national shooting team (50-meter discipline) until 2022, achieving a bronze medal in the 2017 African Shooting Championships.
