Jakarta – Indonesian Business Council (IBC) invites partners, stakeholders, and policymakers to
join and participate at the Indonesia Economic Summit (IES) 2025 held in Jakarta, 3-4 December
this year. The summit is the first of its kind hosted by IBC and set to be an annual high-level
forum for international business leaders, policymakers, thinkers, and industry champions.
CEO of IBC Sofyan Djalil stated that IES provides an opportunity for stakeholders to meet global
business leaders and high-level government officials and learn about Indonesia’s next business,
industry, and policy trends that will drive and lead the new growth hub in the region. “IES will
provide an insight into the upcoming of Indonesia’s economic direction,” explained Mr. Djalil.
IBC recently announced the list of speakers who will join IES in December this year in Jakarta.
Chairman and CEO of the Institute of Energy Economics Japan (IEEJ) Tatsuya Terazawa, Head of
Trade Policy at the Hinrich Foundation Deborah Elms, and Chairman of the Board for Japan Bank
for International Cooperation (JBIC) and Special Advisor to the Cabinet of the Government of
Japan Tadashi Maeda are among business leaders and global thinkers scheduled to speak at the
IES.
IBC also invites partners from industry associations and business chambers to participate in the
sessions and explore potential collaboration in Indonesia. As the country is transitioning into
a new government administration, Indonesia is looking towards more international collaboration
and foreign direct investment to achieve its ambition of high economic growth.
At IES 2025, IBC will organise executive roundtables, bilateral meetings set between high-level
officials and/or business leaders. Here, participants will obtain insights on specific
business/industry in Indonesia and join the discussions to explore upcoming investment
opportunities in the country.
